Falkirk 1-4 Celtic
Celtic got their frst win of the new season with an impressive 4-1 victory away to John Hughes' Falkirk side. Goals from Miller, Nakamura and Vennegoor of Hesselink in a devestating five minute period gave Celtic the win.
The 'Bairns started brightly and stunned the
champions with a goal from Higdon after only four minutes. This gave Falkirk a boost and they controlled midfield for a long period with Latapy prticularly impressive.
As the first half progressed Celtic came more and more into the game and Kenny Milne's 28th minute own goal gave Celtic the equaliser.
Kenny Miller gave the champions the lead after 76 minutes after Aiden McGeady's overhead volley rebounded off the bar. A couple of minutes later Kenny Milne was sent off for a professional foul on Vennegoor of Hesselink though video footage would suggest the Falkirk defender was unlucky.
Nakamura scored from the resultant free kick before Vennegoor of Hesselink rounded off the scoring with a well taken goal on 81 minutes.
Gordon Strachan was spoken to by the fourth official for over celebrating but I don't think he will mind too much.
Attention for the Celtic manager and players will now turn to Moscow where we are all hoping for a similar performance and safe passage to the group stages of the Champions League.
